York County's Hazard Mitigation Plan Update
York County’s first Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) was adopted as part of the County Comprehensive Plan in 2008. Seventy of the County’s municipalities adopted the HMP, by resolution.
As required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to achieve consistency with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania All-Hazard Mitigation Plan, the County’s HMP is being updated. With the cooperation of a Local Planning Team, natural- and human-made hazards are being analyzed and vulnerability to these hazards are being assessed.
In December 2012, a draft was sent to PEMA and FEMA for review and approval. Pending notification of approval, the YCPC will work in conjunction with the County of York to adopt the 2013 Hazard Mitigation Plan into the York County Comprehensive Plan. Staff - Roy Livergood or Anne Walko
