What is the York County Heritage Program?
It’s a county-wide network of Heritage Resources –
natural, cultural and historic – that are officially
designated by the York County Planning Commission.
The program focuses on Heritage Sites – places that focus on educating residents and visitors about local heritage, such as:
Historic Places
Museums
Learning Centers
Nature Centers
Natural Areas
Future heritage resources include services, products,
events, tours, communities, landscapes and living treasures. Across the Susquehanna River, York County Heritage
has a parallel program called Lancaster County
Heritage. Both programs work cooperatively with the Lancaster-York Heritage Region to interpret and promote heritage resources in both Counties.
